Agreement
By purchasing from or subscribing to The Serpent and the Lamb, you agree to the following terms and policies regarding subscriptions, shop orders, shipping, and digital content.
Subscription & Billing
Subscriptions renew on a recurring monthly basis, with billing processed on the 1st of each month.
When you subscribe, you are reserving your place for the upcoming edition, but your payment will not be collected until the next billing date.
Example:
If you subscribe anytime during June, your first payment will process on July 1st for July’s edition. You are free to cancel anytime before July 1st and will not be charged.
After your first billing cycle begins, renewals continue automatically on the 1st of each month unless canceled beforehand.
Subscribers may manage their membership at any time through their account dashboard, including:
• Updating shipping addresses
• Changing payment methods
• Switching subscription tiers
• Adjusting shipping preferences
• Canceling before the next billing cycle begins
To avoid being charged for the following month’s edition, cancellations must be made before 11:59 PM on the final day of the month.

SHOP ORDER CANCELLATIONS
Because shop orders are prepared, packed, and fulfilled in small batches by hand, cancellations are generally not accepted once an order has been placed.
However, exceptions may occasionally be made on a case-by-case basis if fulfillment work has not yet begun.

Monthly Club Shipments
Monthly Club Shipments
Subscription editions ship once per month. Any subscription placed before the 1st of the month will ship between the 1st–5th of that month. Each letter is dated for the month it is intended to be received.
Subscribers choose their shipping preference at checkout:
Standard Shipping (Untracked)
Subscription ships in a standard envelope via USPS. This is how most mail clubs ship and is our recommended option — it keeps your subscription affordable and arrives safely in the vast majority of cases. Standard shipping does not include tracking or a protective mailer.
US Standard: 1–2 weeks
International Standard: 2–6 weeks depending on destination and customs processing
Tracked Shipping (Upgrade)
Available as a courtesy for subscribers who prefer additional peace of mind. Tracked orders ship in a protective black poly mailer with full USPS tracking included.
US Tracked: 3–5 business days
International Tracked: 1–3 weeks
Customers are responsible for any customs fees, VAT charges, or import taxes required by their country.
Shop Orders
Shop orders typically process within 3–5 business days before shipping. All standard shop orders ship with tracked shipping by default.
US orders: free shipping on orders over $20
International orders: flat shipping rate of $20. Free shipping on orders over $50
Customers are responsible for any customs fees, VAT charges, or import taxes required by their country.
Archive Editions
Archive Editions ship with full tracked shipping in a protective mailer. All archive orders include USPS tracking and delivery confirmation.
US orders: free shipping on orders over $20
International orders: flat shipping rate of $20. Free shipping on orders over $50
Bundling multiple Archive Editions or combining with shop items is a great way to reach the free shipping threshold. Customers are responsible for any customs fees, VAT charges, or import taxes required by their country.

We strongly recommend standard shipping for all subscription orders. It is how the majority of mail clubs ship worldwide and we stand behind every envelope that leaves our hands. In the rare event your order does not arrive we will do our best to make it right.

Lost or Damaged Items
If your order arrives damaged or appears lost in transit, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photographs if applicable.
Every parcel is packed carefully by hand, and while we cannot guarantee replacements or refunds in every circumstance, we will always do our best to resolve issues fairly and thoughtfully.
Orders shipped using untracked stamped shipping methods carry additional transit risk that is accepted by the customer at checkout. For these orders, replacements or refunds are offered at our discretion and may be limited in cases of repeated claims.
We are not responsible for delays caused by postal carriers, customs processing, weather conditions, or local mail services once an order has left our hands.

Due to the handmade, small-batch, and limited nature of our products, most sales are final.

CHANGES TO THE SERVICE
The Serpent and the Lamb reserves the right to adjust pricing, subscription contents, shipping methods, product availability, or service structure when necessary to support the long-term sustainability of the club.
Whenever possible, significant changes affecting active subscribers will be communicated in advance.
This project is built slowly and intentionally, with the hope of creating something lasting rather than something rushed. Any adjustments made along the way will always be approached thoughtfully, with both the customer experience and the future of the club in mind.

Intellectual Property
All artwork, written stories, illustrations, product designs, branding, photography, and original content created for The Serpent and the Lamb remain the intellectual property of the brand and may not be reproduced, redistributed, resold, or copied without permission.
